Helping you take care of your furry friends!
Are the staff, services, and upcoming appointments the same?
Yes! Jennifer, Amy, Kari, and Karlee will be performing the same services. (PLUS some new add-ons *see in prices and services). All scheduled upcoming appointments remain the same. The larger space will offer more room for your pooches to play, and quiet spots for the shy, anxious, or senior pups who prefer a cozier space while they wait.
Is there parking?
YES, lots of Parking! We are excited to provide free on-site parking out back (entrance is off Maple St. N). Also free, no-limit parking right out front and a free city parking lot across the road. Drop-off and pick-up are easier than ever! 🙂
What if I'm working? What arrangements can be made?
We know that everyone has different lifestyles, and we are happy to try to work out your pup's appointment to fit our hours AND your schedule by offering half-day visits, or other arrangements on a case-by-case basis. Because of our new larger location, we now can accommodate your needs!
** please note that we are not a doggie daycare, and dogs coming for half-day stays, or other arrangements will do so with a grooming appointment. All dirty dogs will leave fresh and clean!
Here at the Parlour we stand behind the “Humanity Before Vanity “rule – meaning your furry family member comes first. A great hairdo and a cute clip are important, but their experience during that process is crucial to their well-being. With a combined 35 + years' experience along with continued upgrades to our learning; the Parlour Staff focuses on the environment your dog is in and how they are handled. Anxiety sufferers or dogs with disabilities, and fearful or senior dogs all need different and special care while being groomed. Their happiness is our priority, and we continue to strive to provide a service that we would want our own pets to receive.
When you live a busy life, it is hard to consistently provide the attention and care that your pets can demand. With years of satisfied owners and loved pets, you can rely on us to care for your pets when you're away.
Please contact us if you cannot find an answer to your question.
Great question! When you drop off you lr dog for the first time we ask for 3 hours for a full groom for most dogs. This is so we can learn their tolerance and behavior, and do what's best so they are comfortable for their grooming experience. Appointments typically start shortly after your dog arrives and all services are hands on. Most grooms take 1-3 hours depending on behavior, coat type and condition, and quality of home maintenance. Let's define matting here. Mats are bits of tangled, knotted fur and can happen in any coat type. Typical spots for matted are in friction areas such as armpits, behind the ears, between toes, under the collar or harness, base of tail etc. Some mats can be humanely and safely removed using a variety of brushes and combs, detangling conditioners and other tools. (Burrs can cause mats too, and should be removed right away by breaking them apart, and combing out with a little detangling conditioner or coconut oil.) Untreated mats turn into pelting. We do not under any circumstances de-matt pelted coats. Pelted coats are the equivalent of gluing a sweater to your dog’s skin. If we find this is the case you will be notified and proper procedure will be taken. Removing the pelted coat required the clippers to reach under the coat ending up in a "do-over". The entire coat is removed as it is the only humane, safe and healthy remedy for this condition. We offer tips and tricks on facebook and are available to discuss options to prevent this happening:)
The answer is YES! We do all breeds of any weight and size. Please note that extra large breeds with heavy coats often require more than 3 hours as to give them and our staff breaks and extra brush out and deshedding time. We are completely set up for these big guys with a walk-in floor shower stall, tables that lower to the floor, and hip supports for those older dogs or ones who might struggle with joint issues. Your giant breeds are safe with us as we take our time and adjust as they need it.
We love caring for pets! If you have a special request, send us a message, and we'll get back to you as soon as possible.
